Anthony de Mello
Until his sudden death on June 2, 1987, Fr. Tony de Mello was the director of the Sadhana Institute of Pastoral Counseling near Poona, India. Author of five best selling books, renowned worldwide for his workshops, retreats, and prayer courses, he aimed simply to teach people HOW TO PRAY, how to WAKE UP AND LIVE.
J. Francis Stroud, S.J.
J. FRANCIS STROUD, S.J. served as Executive Director of The DeMello Spirituality Center from its foundation if 1984 until his death in 2007. He studied with Tony at the Sadhana Institute in India and later taught courses at Fordham University on the application of DeMello spiritual principles to the media experience of film and television.
JONATHAN GALENTE was elected Executive Director, President of the DeMello-Stroud Spirituality Center (aka Center for Spiritual Exchange), subsequent to Father Stroud’s death. Jonathan had been a trustee and officer of the Center for twenty-five years. He is a former member of the Psychology Department of Fordham University.
Ms. Hall is the former Prior of the Eastern Province of the Knights of St. John of Jerusalem. In that capacity, she led the Knights and Dames of the Province in numerous charitable programs in fulfilment of the Order’s mission “pro utilitate Dei et hominum”–in service to God and mankind.
